In 2014 Wilsons fame exploded across the pond in a more prominent way by announcing her participation in Showtimes The Affair as Alison Lockhart a troubled young woman who has a past of dark that falls in love with a married man named Noah Solloway. Wilson, along with Mauratierney and Joshua Jackson won a Golden Globe as Best Actress for a Television Series-Drama in the year 2015. Wilson in an interview with British Vogue during the year 2015 stated that she was enjoying being able to play characters with two different perspective. Noah views Alison as a confident, unpretentious and sexually attractive light. But in real life Alison regards herself as unattractive. The actress said that she believes America has become so moralist and judgmental that events on this show are shocking. Wilson quit the show in 2018 after a lot of fans' surprise, however she wasn't clear on the specifics. It was my intention to quit, however I'm not permitted to discuss the reasons why she said so during a CBS This Morning interview in August of 2018. Wilson is now focusing on film. She was in 2016 when she was a part in the film I Am The Pretty Thing in the House in the horror film I Am the Pretty Thing. In 2017, she appeared as the cryptic PT Stella, in the sci-fi romcom How to Talk to Girls at Parties. In addition to her horror credits Wilson is also set to appear in the British film adaptation to The Little Stranger. The supernatural thriller was adapted from the Sarah Waters' novel. Wilson directs the production.
